Online Safety

Online safety

At Grenoside Primary School, we are committed to educating children in how to stay safe online and how to be responsible users of the internet and online technology. This can only be achieved with close partnership between home and school. If you have any worries about online safety or any online activities please contact school and speak to a member of the Safeguarding Team.

For your own information and guidance please follow the link (https://www.saferinternet.org.uk/advice-centre/parents-and-carers) to the UK Safer Internet Centre website for further advice.  Alternatively the NSPCC offer similar advice and guidance (https://www.nspcc.org.uk/preventing-abuse/keeping-children-safe/online-safety/).

If someone has acted inappropriately towards you online you can report it to CEOP (Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre) by clicking on this link (https://www.ceop.police.uk/safety-centre/).

This is a website which you may also find helpful (http://www.thinuknow.co.uk/). It has sections for different age groups as well as information for parents/carers.

Safeguarding Policies & Procedures

Policies related to safeguarding can be viewed and/or downloaded from the Safeguarding Sheffield Children website on the policies page (https://www.safeguardingsheffieldchildren.org/sscb/education/policies-procedures). These policies are updated regularly and used by Sheffield schools.

Grenoside’s school related policies can be found on the Our School tab under safeguarding.

You may also find the following leaflets, produced by the Sheffield Safeguarding Children Board, useful:
